What we do

WHAT DOES THE CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION OF MONGOLIA DO?

The Mongolian Children's Foundation works to ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow up in a healthy, educated, loving, and safe environment through the following core focus areas:

1. "Alternative Care" in Child protection

We provide flexible care services tailored to the unique characteristics and needs of each child. This includes:

  • Temporary shelter: Immediately receiving children who have been victims of violence or are in high-risk situations into a safe environment.
  • Family-based care: Supporting the reintegration of children into their biological families whenever possible or raising them in a family-like environment (foster home).
  • Daycare services: Providing daily care, education, and nutrition for children from vulnerable families to prevent the risk of them ending up on the streets.

2. Education and Sponsorship

Child Sponsorship Program: Providing financial and psychological support through donors to ensure every child can continue their education and receive vocational guidance.

3. Systemic change

Local partnerships: Moving beyond direct care to collaborate with government and local authorities to create child-friendly environments and make progress at the policy level.

4. Transparent donation management

Directly allocating donor contributions (monetary and material) toward children's daily food, clothing, and safety, while ensuring the sustainable operation of the organization.

OUR SCOPE OF OPERATIONS

The Mongolian Children's Foundation consistently delivers alternative care services through the following operational units:

  • In Ulaanbaatar: 5 Child Protection Centers (Providing alternative care and welfare services).
  • 1 Daycare Center dedicated to supporting child development.
  • In Rural Areas: 1 Branch in Kharkhorin, Ovorkhangai Province: This stands as the only Child Development and Protection Center in the Western region.

What is daycare service?

It is a critical prevention service that welcomes children from high-risk family environments into a safe space during the day. We provide:

  • Nutritious meals and snacks.
  • Homework assistance and tutoring.
  • Developmental programs.

By engaging children in these activities, we effectively prevent them from falling victim to violence or ending up on the streets.
